The cost of a Squib

What does a Squib cost?

You can buy a ‘fixer-upper’ for under £1,500. A club boat will probably cost about twice that. Older boats, those numbered up to about 160, are highly prized and, despite being 30 to 40 years old, usually go for sums between £4,500 and £9,000 depending on whether the Squib in question needs work or is in race winning condition. Squibs certainly last!

New Squibs can be bought from the sole registered builder, Bruce Parker Sailboats, - www.bpsailboats.com. A new one including sails and a trailer is surprisingly inexpensive – £16,500. At the time of writing, the latest sail number is over 870.
