SUMMARY:2024 National Squib Championships
DESCRIPTION:Royal Forth Yacht Club\, in Edinburgh\, are hosting the  National Squib Championships from 15 to 21 June 2024. \nRFYC Rear-Commodore Will Davies expanded on this news:  “We are very much looking forward to giving a warm Scottish welcome to fellow UK and Irish Squib sailors and their families. This event was last held in Scotland\, in Dundee\, in 1998 so it’s time to dust of your tartan and head north of the border once again or for the first time! More details of the event will follow\, but in the meantime\, save the date and start looking forward to what will be a fantastic event both on and off the water.” \n \nEdinburgh is located by the Forth\, on the East coast of Scotland\, with easy access by road. Competitors will enjoy six days of fantastic racing on excellent waters\, with the courses less than 10 minutes from the harbour mouth. Berthing will be on pontoons and launching/recovery will be via our efficient shoreside cranes. \nOff the water you can look forward to a variety of entertaining organised social events at our clubhouse\, plus we will give you the opportunity to explore some the many things that Edinburgh has to offer\, be that local whisky or ales\, golf courses\, historic tours/galleries\, plus many restaurants and nightclubs! There will be something for everyone and all within 3 miles from the clubhouse. \nThere is an abundance of accommodation available in the city to suit a wide variety of budgets and we will be communicating more details of what and where in due course. \nThere will be plenty of options available as we will not be racing during the Scottish or English school holidays\, nor the famous Edinburgh Festival or Hogmanay celebrations\, \n

SUMMARY:Malaysian National Championships
DESCRIPTION:The Squibs at Selangor are going from strength. The Penninsular Sailing Club fleet now stands at 16 boats in commission with two more imminent arivals and with nine nationalities represented amongst the owners this is very likely to be the most cosmopolitan Squib event in 2024. \nPulau Indah’s clean water and wide rivers will provide the perfect backdrop to the event. The majority of the racing program is planned to take place right in front of the club house\, providing spectators with an excellent view\, whilst the long distance races will take competitors out into the open water of the Melaka Straits.  Competitors can expect three days of well-organised\, competitive One Design Racing with light but steady winds and an interesting social program. \nWatch this space for more details……… \n \n

SUMMARY:UK & Open Squib National Championships 2023
DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY. \nA testing 20+ knot SouthWesterly amd lumpy seas greeted the Squib fleet in Weymouth Bay.  After one false start they were underway with Two Counts edging clear of nearest rival Ric’O’Shea as the race progressed.  Behind them Malcolm Hutchings and Andy Carley took third ahead of local boat Saskia III\, ( Richard Frost and Adam Bowers ). \nIn the overall results  this translates into Two Counts being the 2023 UK Squib Champions with Ric’o’Shea a clear runner-up. Maverick sits in third place in Dan Henderson’s first Squib championships. Fourth overall were the Grogans a single point ahead of MIke Budd and Mark Greaves in Harry Vi. \nResults and photos here \n  \n  \n
