Glandore Harbour Yacht Club

We sail in the waters of Glandore Harbour, on the West Cork coastline, protected from southerly swells by Adam and Eve Islands. Once inside Adam the bay opens out to provide a large sailing area of inner and outer harbours, where we usually enjoy both wind and flat sea, perfect for open boat racing.

The Glandore Squib fleet is competitive, but relaxed. We race on Wednesday evenings in the inner harbour around fixed marks and on Saturday afternoons in the outer harbour. Courses are varied – windward, leeward and reaching legs. We have numerous regattas from June to September and some unique races around the Islands. Twice each season, we race with the Dragon fleet to nearby Castletownsend, which is a great social occasion for the club.

We have an open two-day regatta at the end of August, the Rose Bowl, open to visiting Squibbers, all welcome.

The Club owns two Squibs. Both are available to charter by Club members at a very reasonable charge, and provide a great introduction before committing to boat ownership.

New members are always welcome, both owners and crew. To find out more contact the Squib Class Captain
