Squibs at Lowestoft

The Squib Fleet at Lowestoft involves two sailing clubs:
Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club who race on the sea in the summer out of Lowestoft Harbour
Waveney and Oulton Broad Yacht Club who race on Oulton Broad all year round.

Over the next year, a typical picture of Squib fleet racing in the area would be:

• Full weekends on the sea, with fleet racing during June, and the Lowestoft Sea Week in early August.
• Sunday morning fleet racing on the Broad
• The very popular Oulton Week at the end of August.
• Two fleet races every Sunday from November through to March on the Broad in the W&OBYC Winter Series. This series provides for very close racing, and typically has at least two previous National Champions racing regularly.
• The popular ‘season-starter’ Broadland Regatta Open Meeting at the end of March.
