Hi Everone!

Many thanks for sending  the latest edition of  Squibblings,  which we all much enjoyed
We recently had an event which I think is worth reporting , our visit to the other yacht club,  from which we are a breakaway
The idea was simply to showcase the Squibs.  Its a 3 to 4 hour sail from our marina base to them and going there  is fine, with the  prevailing wind from astern and the combination of 3 stretches and tides works out OK. However on the way back  ..its no fun.  Good tide for 2 stretches means poor for the 3rd  sail /motoring  and lot of tacking is the only way but it still took hours
Anyway it was a big sucess!
They really liked the Squibs and the ‘big boss’  Lord Richard,  chairman of the Yacht Club  Supervisory Committee is seriously  thinking of getting one  while his his other boat is a restored. That boat is an 1890 Bristol Cutter which he shares with our local Sultan.  They  also did the Peking-Paris Rally in a vintage Chevrolet so they are clearly very keen on tradition.  (Richard’s Dad was the British Resident,  the  advisor to the current Sultan’s Dad and before that, his grandfather Grandfather, this was how the British ruled so they grew up together.  It all happens here !)
